Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)

Our primary goal is always to align the radiation beam precisely with the shape and outline of the tumor. With IMRT, we can irradiate a tumor from different directions and at the same time vary the intensity of certain radiation fields in the course of the procedure by means of lead leaves in the tube head (MLC = multi leaf collimator). This allows us to direct the dose precisely on the tumor and to preserve and protect adjacent tissue and organs.
